Tive a oportunidade de conhecer e testar os filtros para fotografia da Eslovaca RAY MASTERS. A minha primeira impressão sobre os filtros que me foram enviados é muito boa. Bem embalados, com uma película protetora em ambas as superfícies do filtro. Todos os filtros ND e GND vem devidamente identificados no canto superior esquerdo.

Os filtros ND e GND são produzidos numa resina de alta qualidade, e após alguns testes e até algumas quedas, revelaram boa resistência e não facilmente quebráveis, o que é uma excelente noticia.

A versão beta do ND1000 é um filtro de 10 stops em vidro, com uma excelente performance, com um resultado ligeiramente azulado, mas facilmente corrigível na edição. Excelente value for money! Voltarei ao ND1000 noutra ocasião.

Usei uma Canon 5D Mark II e EF 16-35 f2.8L II USM, e um suporte cokin ZPRO, para a imagem seguinte (RAW), e usei uma combinação de dois filtros, um ND8 (3 stops) e um GND 4 Soft para o céu.

Assim, com um ISO 200 e abertura f9, obtive 15s de exposição e a seguinte imagem. É o ficheiro RAW, não editado além de um crop da imagem e inserção dos logótipos.

Fiquei muito satisfeito com o resultado. Uma imagem com tons neutros, com uma reprodução fidedigna das cores!

Não há predominância de cor, especialmente do magenta, observada inúmeras vezes em outros filtros de resina. Boa transição de gradiente, neste caso, testado o “soft” . Boa nitidez.

Conclusão Fiquei muito impressionado com a qualidade deste produto. No que diz respeito à relação preço-qualidade diria que estão no topo, com uma qualidade comparável com os filtros LEE, mas com substancial diferença de preço, para melhor, claro!

Com a combinação certa de filtros e algum ajuste na temperatura de cor, RAY MASTERS é certamente uma excelente opção em filtros para fotografia de paisagem.

RAY MASTERS CAMERA FILTERS REVIEW

A while ago I had the opportunity to try RAY MASTERS, a Slovakian filters brand. They sent me filters to try out. My first impression at unpacking was very good. The filters were tightly packed on a cardboard box and with film protecting both surfaces. All ND and GND filters are marked in the upper left corner.

The ND and GND filters are produced in high quality resin and after trying some of them out on the field, they revealed a good resistance, are not easily breakable, which is very good news (dropped one of them on the ground!).

The beta version ND1000 is a 10 stops glass filter, has a good performance, slightly bluish, but easily correctable in edition. All in all, great value for money! I will write further more about the ND1000 filter in another post.

I used a Canon 5D Mark II with EF 16-35 f2.8L II USM, a cokin ZPRO holder for the following image (not edited). I used a combination of two filters ND 8 (3 stops) and GND 4 Soft, for the upper part of the image, just for the sky.

So, at ISO 200 and f9 aperture, I got 15sec exposure for this image. This is the RAW file of the image. I just cropped the photo and added the logos.

Very happy with the results! Image with total neutrality and good color reproduction! No colorcast, especially magenta, noticed so many times on other resin filters. Good gradient transition, in this case, “soft” transition. Good sharpness.

Conclusion Very impressed with the quality of this product. In their value for money ratio, I would say they are at the top and easily comparable with Lee filters, but at a far better price! The right combination of filters and WB adjustment make RAY MASTERS surely a excelent option in landscape photography filters.
